In a deeply shocking and tragic turn of events, the picturesque town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, often referred to as “Mini Switzerland,” witnessed a horrifying terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 26 tourists, including two foreign nationals, and left 20 others injured. The attack has sent shockwaves across the nation and ignited a powerful wave of grief and outrage among Indian citizens and celebrities alike.

Taking to social media, some of India’s most beloved actors have expressed their anguish, solidarity with the victims, and unwavering support for the armed forces. Actor Sidharth Malhotra, who portrayed Captain Vikram Batra in the film Shershaah, condemned the attack in strong words. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on innocent civilians is a cowardly act. I have full faith in our armed forces and I’m sure they will do the needful and ensure justice. My prayers and thoughts are with the families of the innocent victims. Jai Hind!”

Actor Sanjay Dutt, known for his roles in films like LOC Kargil and Mission Kashmir, also took to X and delivered a fiery message, demanding action and accountability. He stated, “They killed our people in cold blood. This can’t be forgiven, these terrorists need to know we are not staying quiet. We need to retaliate, I request our Prime Minister @narendramodi ji, Home Minister @AmitShah ji and Defence Minister @rajnathsingh.”

South Indian superstar Allu Arjun, deeply moved by the incident, expressed his sorrow on social media, writing, “Soo heart broken by #Pahalgam Attack. Such a beautiful place with kind hearted people. The attack, reportedly carried out by terrorists affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF)—a Lashkar-e-Taiba offshoot—has not only left a scar on the scenic landscape of Kashmir but also shattered the peace of countless families. As images and reports of the tragedy emerged, the public demanded stronger security measures, swifter justice, and long-term strategies for preventing such heinous acts.

Meanwhile, officials stated that the final death toll and list of victims are still being compiled. Security operations are ongoing in the region, with high-level meetings underway in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is closely monitoring the situation, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already visited Srinagar to pay tribute to the victims.

Once hailed for its breathtaking views and welcoming atmosphere, Pahalgam is now the site of immense sorrow. What was supposed to be a peaceful getaway for many turned into a nightmare, further emphasizing the urgent need for improved security and vigilant protection of India’s tourism sectors.

As the nation stands united in grief, the outpouring of emotions from public figures reflects not only their personal pain but also the collective heartbeat of a country that will not be silenced by fear.
