Wow! Momo, a Kolkata-based brand, targets global expansion, aspiring to become India’s snack sensation like Maggi.

In India, there are big restaurants that serve food quickly, and many of them are from other countries. But a restaurant called Make India QSR is doing something different. They are promoting and selling tasty Indian flavors. After the pandemic, these quick-service restaurants became very popular in India.

Even though there are famous international chains like McDonald’s, KFC, Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Burger King, and Taco Bell, there’s also a local one called Wow! Momo that is becoming more and more popular.

Wow! Momo, which started in Kolkata in 2008, has grown a lot recently. Their earnings went from 222 crore rupees in the year 2022 to over 400 crore rupees in 2023, according to Tracxn. They’ve also opened more restaurants in different cities.

Murali Krishnan, who helps run Wow! Momo, said, “In the last year, we opened almost 200 new restaurants, and we are now in more than 30 cities. In the first six months of this year, we added 60 more restaurants. Our goal is to make between 650 to 700 crore rupees in sales this year, up from 435 crore rupees last year.”

Here are some important things that will happen:

  • Wow! Eats will have all four types of food: Wow! Momo, Wow! China, Wow! Chicken, and Wow! Kulfi.
  • In the first three months of 2024, there will be 10 Wow! Eats restaurants in big cities.
  • Soon, there will be an app for Wow! Eats will let you order food online for eating in the restaurant or getting it delivered to your home.

Krishnan also talked about Wow Kulfi, saying, “We changed from serving ice cream on the street to making a brand for Wow Kulfi.”
