On Thursday, December 29, 2022, the legendary athlete Pele, who was widely regarded as the best football player in the history of the sport, passed away. Many people all around the world have expressed their condolences and paid respect to the late Brazilian football hero. Indian dairy co-op Amul, which is well-known for its topical advertisements, has also paid respect to the iconic player by publishing a topical that is suited for the occasion.
The black-and-white item is titled “SimPele the greatest,” It has a picture of Pele in action on the pitch, demonstrating his iconic “bicycle kick.”
However, this isn’t the first time Amul has discussed this subject with Pele. Earlier in 2015, the cooperative published its very first topical, which featured a great player.
Pele’s journey to India in October 2015 served as the occasion for this conversation. After an absence of 38 years, he visited Kolkata for a period of 3 days. In 1977, he travelled to India as well. The relevant discussion centred on the star’s glowing reception in India’s football capital during his recent trip there.
This time, the celebration was in honour of Cristiano Ronald breaking Pele’s record for most goals scored. With his 770th goal, Cristiano Ronaldo broke the previous mark of 767 goals held by a Brazilian great.
Pele was 82 years old when he passed away due to complications from cancer. He fought the condition for a significant amount of time and ended up in the hospital in Sao Paulo. Three days of national mourning will be held in Brazil in honour of the renowned footballer who passed away.
