Navya Naveli Nanda Addresses Social Media Trolls Amid IIM-Ahmedabad Admission: ‘It’s Important to Focus on My Goals’

Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has recently been in the spotlight following her admission to IIM Ahmedabad. As social media buzzed with reactions—both supportive and critical—Navya opened up about how she handles online trolls and negativity.

During her appearance at the India Today Mumbai Conclave 2024, in a session titled ‘Beyond the Legacy: Gen Z for a Just and Equal India,’ Navya discussed her experiences. She acknowledged the privilege she comes from but emphasized that criticism doesn’t deter her from focusing on her goals. “If I consider myself to be working for people, I can’t be offended by what they say. Social media has given many a voice, and while some use it negatively, I take it as feedback to grow both as an individual and as an entrepreneur.”

Navya also expressed her excitement about joining IIM Ahmedabad, stating, “India has some of the finest institutions in the world, and being part of IIM Ahmedabad is incredible. I feel fortunate to learn from the best professors.”

Her Instagram post announcing the news garnered significant attention, with some users doubting her admission and others defending her. Despite the online chatter, Navya remains committed to her ambitions and isn’t distracted by external negativity. “I use the criticism to do the best I can in my journey,” she added.

Navya is the daughter of Shweta Bachchan Nanda and businessman Nikhil Nanda, continuing the legacy of one of India’s most influential families.
