A 26-year-old man from Vadodara, Gujarat, was detained by the Worli Police for allegedly sending a threatening message to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan via WhatsApp. According to sources, the accused, identified as Mayank Pandya, had sent the message to the Mumbai Traffic Police’s helpline, warning that he would “enter Salman Khan’s house and plant a bomb in his car.” The suspect was later released after being issued an official notice by the police.
As per sources, the message sent by Pandya read, “We will enter your house and kll you,”* and also claimed a bomb would be planted in the actor’s vehicle. While the message did not directly reference the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the nature of the threat bore strong similarities to previous warnings that have been connected to the gang, which has a long-standing grudge against Salman Khan.
Over the last two years, Khan has received multiple death threats, some of which have been linked to the Bishnoi gang. In a high-profile incident last year, gunmen fired shots outside Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, which led to a significant increase in his security. The threats are believed to be connected to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, in which Khan was accused but later acquitted. The Bishnoi community holds blackbucks as sacred, and Lawrence Bishnoi has repeatedly demanded that Khan apologize publicly or face dire consequences.
Despite the rising threats, Salman Khan has continued his work in the film industry. He was most recently seen in ‘Sikandar’, a film directed by AR Murugadoss that was released during Eid. While the movie crossed ₹200 crore globally, it has been described as an underwhelming performer in India by trade analysts.
As per police sources, cyber experts have been roped in to trace the origin of the WhatsApp message. The investigation is focused on determining whether Pandya acted alone or has any affiliations with larger criminal networks. Authorities have made it clear that issuing such threats, even over digital platforms, is a serious offense and will be dealt with under strict legal provisions.
According to sources close to the investigation, the Mumbai Police are also monitoring other known threats to Khan and reassessing his security detail following the latest incident. Internal reports suggest that more surveillance is being deployed around Galaxy Apartments and at public events where the actor is expected to make appearances.
Although Salman Khan has not released an official statement about the incident, sources close to his family have assured the public that the actor is aware of the situation and is cooperating with the authorities. The police continue to investigate the case and are expected to release further updates soon.
With rising concerns over celebrity safety, especially amid repeated threats, this incident highlights the urgent need for proactive law enforcement and digital threat management. Fans and industry insiders alike are now closely watching the investigation, hoping for a swift and firm resolution.
