Popular Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda has been hospitalized following a mishap involving his licensed revolver. The incident occurred early this morning at his Juhu residence in Mumbai. According to reports from the Mumbai Police, Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg while handling the firearm.
The accident took place at approximately 4:45 am when the 60-year-old actor was preparing to leave for Kolkata. His wife, Sunita Ahuja, confirmed to the media that Govinda is stable and undergoing treatment at CritiCare Hospital. “He is fine, the doctors have removed the bullet, and he is in recovery now,” she assured.
Police officials have seized the weapon and are currently investigating the matter. According to Govinda’s manager, the revolver misfired after falling from a cupboard while the actor was trying to store it. The manager added that it was a minor injury and that Govinda was fortunate that it did not result in a more severe outcome. He has since been discharged after receiving treatment.
The actor’s team mentioned that he was scheduled to fly to Kolkata for a show. Sunita, who was already at the airport at the time of the incident, immediately rushed to the hospital after hearing the news. No official complaint has been filed regarding the incident.
