Gaurav Taneja Faces Backlash Over Relocating Pet Dog Mau

Popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, known as Flying Beast, is under fire after revealing in a recent vlog that he has moved his pet dog, Mau, to a farmhouse. In the video titled “Where is Mau?”, Taneja explained that due to lifestyle changes and his father’s religious concerns, they decided to relocate Mau.

This decision has sparked significant criticism from fans and animal lovers. Many accuse Taneja of treating Mau as a prop for content creation, alleging that the dog was used to garner views and then discarded when no longer convenient. Comments on social media reflect this sentiment, with one user stating, “Mau ko laya bhi views ke liye tha. Ab aa nhe rhe toh hata diya. He is a very smart.” (He brought Mau for the views. Now that he is not getting the views, he has removed him. He is very smart.)

Others have shared personal experiences to highlight the emotional impact such separation can have on pets. A commenter recounted, “We left our dog just for 5 days with our uncle… He stopped eating for the whole 5 days.”

Taneja, a 38-year-old IIT Kharagpur graduate, is a professional pilot, bodybuilder, and certified nutritionist. He operates three YouTube channels: Flying Beast (vlogs and travel content), Fit Muscle TV (fitness and nutrition), and Rasbhari Ke Papa (lifestyle and family content). He is married to Ritu Rathee, and they have two daughters, Kiara and Pihu.

The controversy has ignited discussions about responsible pet ownership and the ethical obligations of influencers. Critics argue that pets are lifelong commitments and should not be treated as disposable commodities. The backlash underscores the expectation that public figures demonstrate accountability, especially concerning the welfare of animals entrusted to their care.
